About
The Pinewalk Penguins Swim Team is located in the Pinewalk Subdivision. We are celebrating our 33rd year in 2026!
The Pinewalk Penguins has grown to approximately 150 swimmers who compete each summer. Our team is open to qualifying aged swimmers (ages 4 - 18 years).
Penguin practices occur during after school hours in early May and during morning hours after school is out. The season begins in early May and typically runs through the last week of June. The team is operated by Ellen Comeaux and Fran Rissland. Additional detail regarding practice and meet schedules may be located by exploring this web site. The Pinewalk Penguins require that swim team parents complete volunteer shifts during the season in order to help us run a successful team and meet.
Membership is open to the public.
Mission and Objectives
The Pinewalk Penguins purpose is to offer kids ages 4 - 18 years old, a recreational summer swim league with unique experiences that promotes the following goals:
- A positive, healthy, safe, and enjoyable competitive environment for youth swimmers within the community.
- An opportunity to develop competitive swimming skills and improve physical fitness
- A commitment to personal improvement, work ethic, self-discipline, self-confidence, and excellence
- A team environment of inclusion, camaraderie, sportsmanship, friendship, and fun.
We view the fundamentals of hard work, regular practice, self-discipline, and goal-setting as important life skills. And we firmly believe that if we work hard, we can play hard and we can achieve!
